ART ON THE WEB

Websites for Artists - Workshop Series

OVERVIEW

Art On The Web is a 6-week workshop that guides artists through building a professional website using Squarespace. You’ll learn how to organize your content, write effective text, prepare your portfolio, design your site, and launch with confidence. Through weekly live sessions, mentorship, and peer feedback, you’ll leave with a polished website you can proudly share. The workshop runs from June 14 to July 19, with sessions held on Saturdays from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM (Central) via Zoom. The total cost is $100.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • A: No prior experience is necessary. Art On The Web is designed to guide you through the entire process—from start to finish. That said, basic computer literacy is required.

  • A: Ideally, yes. While we’ll share tips on how to document your work, you’ll get the most out of the workshop if your artwork is already documented. If you’re a photographer or digital artist, simply having your digital portfolio ready is sufficient. Need help documenting your work? We can assist with that too!

  • A: Yes. Each participant will receive one free individual consultation. This session can be used to troubleshoot specific issues or discuss challenges related to your website. If you need additional support beyond the scope of the workshop, we’re happy to discuss paid consultation options.

  • A: No problem! All sessions are recorded, and the videos will be made available to you. You can catch up on missed content at your own pace. You’ll also have access to a community chatroom for feedback and support from your peers throughout the workshop.

  • A: Yes. All websites require a domain name and hosting, which are third-party services and not included in the workshop fee. These costs can vary, but we recommend waiting until the workshop begins—we’ll walk through the setup process together.

  • A: Absolutely—you can build a website on your own. However, Art On The Web offers real advantages: expert guidance, structured support, curated resources, and community feedback. This workshop helps you skip the guesswork and avoid the common pitfalls that often come with the DIY approach.
